Couples
Two couples being filmed while having sex, the most natural action of the human race. The
camera angel is fixed throughout, showing the couples from a bird’s eye view.
The couples were free to act out their fantasies, with no direction or choreography. In the
installation the films were projected on a wide glass screen, giving the illusion of a
representation display, like one can find in the Zoo. The images of the two couples were mixed
together by split-screen, making moving collages.
Via een advertentie in een landelijk dagblad werd er contact gelegd met 2 echtparen die zich bereid toonden de liefde te bedrijven voor de camera. Vanuit een vast camerastandpunt, van boven, werden de paren geruime tijd gefilmd. Zonder inmenging en met alle ruimte voor hun persoonlijke fantasiëen, bepaalden se hun eigen choreografie.
